Hello! I am Lesley-Anne Wilkinson. I am the proud mother of 2 busy boys, ages 9 & 11 and step son age 15 and step daughter age 18. I have a blended family and enjoy these little humans
We have a one eyed French bulldog named Frank.
I was born in Winnipeg Manitoba, raised in Greater Vancouver but call Victoria B.C home. I have lived in Calgary, Alberta since 2002.
Related to my school experiences, I hold degrees in Child and Youth Care Counselling , Human, Social and Behavioral Development, and a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology. I am also in the final year of completing a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology. My research and dissertation are specialized on the "Impactions of Developmental Trauma on Parent Reflective Functioning and Attachment".
Being a human too, I have lived experiences related neurodevelopmental disorders, mental health and trauma in my own family which we have grown from. Thankfully this informs my practice, making me relatable, authentic, and compassionate. People have shared with me that my warmth, humor and understanding has made them feel comfortable working with me.
Some of my other career experiences includes working with at risk, individuals, children and families since 2002. I am a currently Registered Psychologist, with the College of Alberta Psychologists, since 2012. I am looking to expand my licensing to other Canadian provinces and to the United States.
My most recent experience, since 2012, has been working full time on the Mental Health Unit, in the Children’ s Day Treatment Program at the Alberta Children’ s Hospital in the role of Family Therapist. I currently work at CASA Mental Health Services as a Mental Health Therapist developing the Calgary Trauma Program. This program specializes in working with parents and children with attachment related trauma. It has been such a pleasure to see the growth and confidence of parents I have served and joy they have being with their children..
In my spare time...(because I have so much of it lol!) I like to golf, attend, musical theater, perform dance, watch my kids play sports and spending time with my family and friends. playing interesting card and board games. I also enjoy traveling and continue to develop my unique skills as a healer.
